UK National Reform Programme published
The UK’s second National Reform Programme (NRP) was published in September 2008. The report sets out the challenges currently facing the UK economy and details the Government’s forward looking agenda of economic reforms.
The NRP includes information on:
- how the UK has sought to: invest in knowledge and innovation, improve the business environment, increase employment opportunities for the most disadvantaged and define an energy policy for Europe.
- actions taken to respond to the European Council’s recommendation to improve basic and intermediate skills.
- recent welfare reform measures to move people from inactivity into work and the role ESF has in this.
