European Year for combating poverty and social exclusion (2010)
The European Commission has designated 2010 as the European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion. The €17 million campaign aims to reaffirm the EU's commitment to making a decisive impact on the eradication of poverty by 2010.
The Department for Work and Pensions will lead on activity in the run up to and during the year. The contribution of ESF to combating poverty by extending employment opportunities will be featured during the course of the year.
